Mohamed Hasanin Hekal is a significant Egyptian writer. This Egyptian writer has also played other roles in his life. Hekal was a journalist and a politician as well. He was once a part of Ministry of Egypt as a Minister of Education. This great Arabic writer was born on August 20, 1888 and he passed away in the year 1956.
Mohamed Hasanin Hekal was born in Mansoura, Ad Daqahliyah. He studied law in the Sorbonne University and passed in the year 1901. He became a Juris Doctor from the same university. After becoming a Juris Doctor, he returned to his native land. First, he worked as a lawyer for a decade. Then he worked as a journalist. He also became the editor-in-chief of Al Siyasa newspaper.
Mohamed Hasanin Hekal was one of the advisors of the ruling political party. In the year 1937, Hekal got appointment as the Minister of Education in the Muhammad Mahmoud Pasha's government. He brought many changes as a minister of education.
The reforms that Mohamed Hasanin Hekal made as an education minister include decentralization of the system of education in Egypt. He understood the necessity of establishing different educational zones in the country for the proper growth of education. He first thought of making the same curriculum for all parts of the country. As an educational reformer, Mohamed Hasanin Hekal was greatly influenced by persons like Qasim Amin, Ahmad Lufty Sayed and Mohammad Abduh.
