Aswan

The town of Aswan is situated in the southern part of Egypt. It is comparatively smaller than other Egyptian cities. It is well known for being a busy tourist spot and a good market place. The place is dry and the inhabitants have to be really lucky to get few drops of rain only in years. It has always acted as an entry point to Africa being one of the closest cities to Africa. Aswan has quite a fair population of Nubian people, refugees after natural calamities.

Aswan is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Egypt, bordering the southern tip of Egypt. There are two important islands, namely- island of elephantine and Kitchener. Elephantine contains ruins of the past along with a luxury hotel. This makes it convenient to visit the place which has amazing surroundings. Kitchener's island is known for the beautiful gardens. The Aswan Dam is of great significance as it comprises the Nile river, it is also a sign of wonderful work of architecture.

Aswan was known as Syene in ancient times, this was an Egyptian name. It is lovely gazing at the boats sailing on the sea, or simply walking around the beautiful quiet town of Aswan. You can also relax in 'floating restaurants' which plays Nubian music. This is best complimented by some nice chat and binging on fishes cooked in Egyptian style. A wonderful view of the Nile from Aswan is a treat to the eye. Plenty of tropical plans and palm tress surround the river making it an abode of serenity.

The Comiche is just the right place for you to just laze around. If you want to move into some noise and feel the depth of Egyptian culture, then you might as well visit the Cultural Center. The dancers out there perform Nubian mock 'stick fight' dances, village folk dramas and lots of music. Among other places of visit, there are mosques, the Nubian Museum, the Ferial Gardens and also a colorful bazaar. Tombs are found in plenty, including the tomb of merabut, Qubbet el-Hawwa and tomb of Mohammed Shah Aga Khan. These are important from the historical perspective and might interest you if you have a knack for it. A troop of the Egyptian army is also located in Aswan.

Aswan has a composed atmosphere in comparison to other cities of Cairo and Luxor. There are regular flight services offered by the Egypt airlines. There are maximum of six return flights that Egyptair has scheduled in between Cairo and Aswan. Many hotels of international standard and economy hotels in Aswan cater to the needs of the tourists. There is a lot to see and experience in this beautiful town of Aswan. If you would like to know more about cities in Egypt then log on to www.egypflightshub.com
