Sham al-Naseem: It is one of the popular Festivals in Egypt celebrated by both the Muslims as well as the Christians. In this Egyptian festival, people welcome the first day of Spring with a festive picnic. People go for the picnic called Sham al-Naseem on March 21 where 'Midamis' or the kidney beans and 'fasiyah' or the dried fish are taken as the traditional food.
