When we talk of the Pharaohs, we actually indicate the kings who ruled the country of Egypt in the ancient times. But actually, the kings of Egypt were not regarded as Pharaohs by the ancient inhabitants of Egypt. It is the Hebrews and Greeks who first used the word “Pharaoh” to indicate the Egyptian kings who reigned Egypt in the ancient period. It is actually not known that exactly how many kings reigned Egypt because of the resaon that in the ancient period Egypt was divided, and several kings ruled at the same time. There were even kings who ruled Egypt prior to the period of recorded history. The ancient historians have also recorded certain Pharaohs who was later considered as Egyptian gods. Some of the well-known Pharaohs in Egypt in include Menes, Nefertiti, Amenhotep, Tutkanhamon, and Hatshepsut. All these Pharaohs in Egypt were great rulers.
Menes, who is one of the pharaohs in Egypt, was the founder of the 1st dynasty. He is also the first among the Egyptian rulers who unified the Upper Egypt and lower Egypt to form a single kingdom. The predominent civilization of Ancient Egypt started when Menes of Memphis came into power. During his rule, the Egyptian soldiers fought against the Nubians and succeeded in expanding his rule to the First Cataract.

Hatshepsut, another of the pharaohs in Egypt, is fifth among the rulers of the 18th Dynasty. Her father was the great Thutmose I. Queen Queen Ahmose was Hatshepsut's mother. She was married to Thutmose II, her half-brother. His son Thutmose III was declared the heir after the death of Thutmose II. But as Thutmose III was too young to rule, Hatshepsut was made the regent. But it is in the year 1473 that she declared herself a pharaoh. He administered the country with immense expertise.
Amenhotep IV is the tenth among the many kings of the 18th Dynasty. He is one of the most controversial figure in the history of Egypt. Tutankhamun, who is the 12th monarch of the 18th dynasty was only a eight year old boy when he came to power.
