29th Dynasty

The 29th dynasty was founded by Nephrites I. The capital of the 29th dynasty was Sais which was later shifted to Mendes. The 29th Dynasty known for its art and writing. Achoris was the second king of the 29th dynasty. During his reign many great buildings were built. The 29th dynasty fought against the Persians to save their kingdom. The Greeks and the Egyptians also entered into treaty during this time.

The 29th dynasty ruled for about nineteen years in Egypt. The dynasty had four generation of kings namely the following Nepherites I from the period 398 - 393 BC,Psammuthes took over the kingdom after 393 BC,Hakor ruled from 393 - 380 BC and the last king was the Nepherites II who ruled the kingdom from 380 BC till the downfall of this dynasty.
The 29th dynasty rode due to the internal conflicts in the royal dynasty. After fighting for along time, Nepherites I usurped the kingdom by killing the King Amyrtaeus at Memphis in 399 BC. This dynasty was established originally at Mendes in the delta of river Nile. Later this became their national capital. King Hakor defend his kingdom of Egypt against the Persians. He was one of the successful rulers known in the 29th dynasty and his reign was a prosperous one. During his reign he constructed many monuments all over Egypt.

During this period of 29th Dynasty, the Egyptians used Greeks to fight on the battlefields and they had many Greek military commanders in the Egyptian army.
When Nepherites II became king around the year 380 BC, he only ruled for only four months before Nectanebo I overtook him and himself the new monarch. The 29th dynasty was a short dynasty of four pharaohs. This period saw the division and created instability for Egypt. Only after entering into alliances with the Greek ruler Athens Egypt could be brought back to shape. He was made the new king. With him the 29th dynasty got buried in the history of Egypt.

They wrote that Egypt was ruled by 30 dynasties from the year 3100 BC to 332 BC. The different dynasties of Egypt had many rulers killing each other to sit on the throne. The pre-dynastic era of Egypt lasted till 3100 BC, when the country was united into one and the descendants of Pharaohs were the rulers.
