The Pyramid of Teti |
|
The Pyramid of Teti is located in the pyramid area of Saqqara, in Egypt. Originally it was called Teti's place. Since the preservation of the ground above is very poor the structure at present resembles the look of a small hill. It is interesting to note that there are chambers underground and the well preserved corridors. As you move through the corridors you are simply engulfed by the historical ambiance. The small hill is the main Saqqara pyramid field having a great panoramic view of the whole necropolis. Together these are a part of the pyramid of Teti who was the first ruler of Egypt's 6th Dynasty, even though he was possibly the son of Unas, the last ruler of the 5th Dynasty. The place is acknowledged as the "Teti's (cult) places are enduring". The pyramid is one of the well known pyramids in Egypt.
