Slowdown of Egypt's Population
This is considered one of the key factors, influencing the demography of Egypt. It is is estimated that in the year 2005, there was a growth of only 1.7 % in the total Egyptian population. According to population theorists, it is expected that there will be a further slowdown in population by the year 2015, which will record somewhat at 1.3%, if a similar trend persists. One of the key reasons behind this is that, a major portion of the rural Egyptian population is moving out to some other lucrative foreign destination. Another major reason is that, today Egyptian women are no more confined to their home and hearth. Due to their work related stress, there are more incidents of infertility in Egypt. The current estimated population of Egypt stands at about 79 million as recorded in the 2005 census.
