About Red Sea: A recess of the Indian Ocean, it is located in between Asia and Africa. It is connected to the Indian Ocean in the south through the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el Mandeb sound. To the north of Red Sea, lie the Gulf of Suez, the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Sinai Peninsula. This noted sea is a Global 200 ecoregion. The Red Sea occupies a certain part of the Great Rift Valley and possesses a total area of approximately 174.000 sq miles. As for tourism, the Red Sea is very reputed for having a number of dive sites like SS Thistlegorm, Ras Mohammed, Elphinstone, and many more. In the country of Egypt, there are two noted dive sites, namely, Rocky Island and The Brothers. Apart from the country of Egypt, the other countries bordering the Red Sea are Israel, Jordan, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Eritrea and Djibouti.

Major Egyptian ports and harbors along Red Sea: The noted ports and harbors along Red Sea include Suez Port, Adabieh Port, Petroleum Dock Port, Hurghada Port, Sokhna Port, Noueibah Port, Safaga Port, Sharm El-Sheikh Port and Al-Tour Port. All these ports are operated by the Red Sea Ports Authority, and passenger transportation and freight transportation are integral to these ports.

Suez Port: It is situated in the southern limit of the famous Suez Canal, along the Red Sea. Encompassed by the imaginary line that extends from Ras El Adabieh to Mousa sources. Major shipments of oil, natural gas and petroleum products arrive at this port and enter into the country of Egypt. Crude oil from Lybia enters Egypt and goes through the process of refining and sales.

The other ports and harbors along the Red Sea are equally important and play a major role in imrovingb the prospects of foreign trade in the country of Egypt.
